Beauty Pageant Contestant Hammers Obama’s Bergdahl Deal

The Miss USA Pageant took place Sunday night and there isn’t usually much to say about a broadcast like that on a site like ours… but there usually aren’t any questions about swaps for captured soldiers either. During the pageants Q&A time, Judge Ian Ziering (of Beverly Hills 90210 fame) took the opportunity to ask Ms. Louisiana about the Bergdahl Deal and how she felt about.

She responded in much the same way that most Americans seem to be reacting – with mixed feelings.

Some far Left Liberals are trying to paint Republicans as bloodthirsty for their response on the Bergdahl swap. But the reality is much more nuanced than “we don’t want the deserter back.” The Republican response is much more similar to Miss Louisiana’s.

IAN ZIERING: In recent weeks the U.S. has released five detainees from Guantanamo in exchange for one U.S. soldier held captive in Afghanistan. The U.S. policy is to leave no soldier behind. Do you think it’s fair to sacrifice or swap lives in order to uphold this policy?

MISS LOUISIANA BRITTANY GUIDRY:  I am glad that we got our guy back. However, I do not feel it is right that we subject ourselves to these acts of terrorism. I do agree with our guy being back but, however, I do not think we should subject ourselves. Thank you.

Good answer Miss Louisiana.

Look, liberals. We’re glad Sg.t Bergdahl is home. The President should have done everything within his power to get him back. But the rescue probably should have looked more like this and less like we were negotiating with terrorists to free other terrorists…

Bowe Bergdahl needed to be rescued (if only to stand trial and answer for crimes he may have committed).

Our problem is with the way it happened.
