Dem Congressman Joaquin Castro Claimed Without Any Evidence That Jared Kushner Was Involved In Killing Of Journalist

Dem Congressman Joaquin Castro claimed on CNN that White House advisor Jared Kushner had given the Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman a “hit list” of state “enemies” that was then used as the basis for the Saudis’ alleged assassination of journalist Jamal Khashoggi.

Dem Congressman Joaquin Castro: Let me get to the point that I think is most disturbing right now —the reporting that Jared Kushner may have, with U.S. intelligence, delivered a hit list, an enemies list, to the crown prince, to MBS [Mohammad bin Salman], in Saudi Arabia and that the prince then may have acted on that and one of the people that he took action against was Mr. Khashoggi.

Representative Joaquin Castro (D., Texas) claimed without evidence Friday that White House adviser Jared Kushner may have prompted the Saudi government to assassinate journalist Jamal Khashoggi by including his name on an “enemies list” provided to Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman.

During an appearance on CNN, Castro cited “reporting that Jared Kushner may have, with U.S. intelligence, delivered a hit list, an enemies list, to the crown prince, to MBS, in Saudi Arabia and that the prince may have acted on that, and one of the people he took action against is Mr. Khashoggi.”

Anchor Poppy Harlow pushed back, pointing out that CNN had not obtained any information corroborating Castro’s claim.

“I’ve seen reporting to that effect . . . that needs to be investigated,” Castro responded.

Kushner has established close ties to the Saudi crown prince since joining the White House, but there has been no indication that he was in any way involved with Khashoggi’s disappearance. More

Joaquin Castro has since backed off and tried to say he really wasn’t making any accusation. But he’s still calling for this:
