One-time country star Taylor Swift seems to have fully turned leftward with an official endorsement of the left-winger opposing Republican Marsha Blackburn in Tennessee’s race for U.S. Senate.
Swift took to her social media to pander to the radical LGBTQ community:
“In the past I’ve been reluctant to publicly voice my political opinions, but due to several events in my life and in the world in the past two years, I feel very differently about that now.”
She should have kept her former policy. And you can be sure that those “changes” in her life is the fact that she left the country scene far behind and now she is trying to pander to the Hollywood left for a new stage in her career.
She went on:
Running for Senate in the state of Tennessee is a woman named Marsha Blackburn. As much as I have in the past and would like to continue voting for women in office, I cannot support Marsha Blackburn. Her voting record in Congress appalls and terrifies me.
She voted against equal pay for women. She voted against the Reauthorization of the Violence Against Women Act, which attempts to protect women from domestic violence, stalking, and date rape. She believes businesses have a right to refuse service to gay couples. She also believes they should not have the right to marry. These are not MY Tennessee values. I will be voting for Phil Bredesen for Senate and Jim Cooper for House of Representatives.
Swift went on to encourage fans to “educate yourself on the candidates running in your state and vote based on who most closely represents your values” adding that “[F]or a lot of us, we may never find a candidate or party with whom we agree 100% on every issue, but we have to vote anyway.”
But as Tyler O’Neil noted Swift is not so swift on the facts or the truth because she delivered three lies about Marsha Blackburn’s record and campaign.
On equal pay, for instance, Blackburn has always maintained that she is for equal pay for equal work. But she thinks it is a state matter, not a federal matter.
Swift then claimed that Blackburn is against “dignity” for gays. First of all, this is not a discussion of policy on Swift’s behalf, but brainless name calling. No one in any campaign or office is against “dignity” for gays. Swift just engaged in calumny and name calling, not serious debate.
Secondly, Swift essentially made the call to eliminate religious freedom and that is why Blackburn opposes laws to force businesses to cater to the hardcore gay agenda.
Third, Swift exclaimed that Blackburn opposed the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA). But, that isn’t true. Yes, she voted against the re-authorization of the law, but she did so because the liberals stuffed it with all sorts of pay offs to a list of left-wing, agenda-pushing groups turning the bill into another liberal cornucopia and taking it away from its purpose.
The fact is, Taylor Swift’s political “analysis” was empty of any analysis.
