Hollywood Star Sean Astin Calls Out Liberal Atheist

Sean Astin is a bona fide Hollywood star.

He has played beloved characters in the Goonies, Rudy, and most recently in the Lord of the Rings trilogy.

He recently appeared on the Blaze to promote his newest film, the indie hit, Mom’s Night Out.

He also took time to discuss his Christian faith, which is where he decided to speak out against the extremist, anti-Christian rhetoric of atheist Bill Maher.

In a stinging criticism he called Maher “cripplingly intellectually abusive.”


“People are certainly free to promote what they think and feel and I certainly think a lot of what Bill Maher says makes a lot of sense,” Astin continued. “But to kind of dismiss a feeling that millions of people are having is just not very generous of spirit.”
