The Young Democratic Socialists of America are now encouraging socialists to become teachers so they can exploit the “political, economic, and social potential the industry holds.”
Radio host Michael Knowles: “They’ve got to indoctrinate an ideology rather than educate in history because if they teach history, they’re going to lose…”
This is what’s already wrong with America! Teachers and college professors teaching their own ideologies instead of teaching real history lessons.
A pamphlet by the Young Democratic Socialists of America (YDSA), in conjunction with the Democratic Socialist Labor Commission, outlines a push for socialists to “take jobs as teachers” as a way to move teachers unions “in a more militant and democratic direction.”
Knowles said that according to numerous surveys, “the blood-soaked history” of socialism is unknown by millennials, leading them to identify as supporters of the movement.
Campus Reform reported that the YDSA’s 11-page pamphlet notes teachers are able to use their relationships with students to discuss “campaigns around police brutality, immigrant rights, and environmental justice.” More
“Socialists have a long history of involvement in the workplace,” the booklet asserts, noting that while existing labor unions are imperfect from a socialist perspective, the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) organization believes it is now “in a position to develop a concerted, coordinated presence in unions, to help shape the militancy and political ideology of those unions, and ultimately to play a role in building working class power.”
Acknowledging that there are other industries in which “workers are far more oppressed,” the document contends that education is nonetheless a “strategic” sector because it is so pervasive and heavily unionized that it can impact the “political and economic demands for the working class as a whole.”
In addition, it argues that teachers can leverage their relationships with students and their families to engage in “campaigns around police brutality, immigrant rights, and environmental justice.”
Notably, the section concludes by pointing out that teaching “is still one of the most stable professions in the United States,” asserting that “even in West Virginia, where teachers experienced some of the lowest pay in the nation, they were sometimes the highest-paid workers in their communities.” More
There’s nothing new about this idea at all. That’s why Bill Ayers became a professor. Socialists and Communists have been advocating and carrying this out since before the 1960’s. Their success is why the American educational system has taken a downward spiral. Americans had better wise up and kick them out.
This is outright blatant admission to the indoctrination of our children at its most base level.
