FAKE NEWS: Media Slams Trump for ‘Disrespecting McCain’ by Raising Flag to Full Staff Too Early, But Story is a Lie

The media went wild today attacking President Donald Trump for disrespecting John McCain for raising the flag back to full staff too early, but the accusation is a fake news lie because the White House was following the U.S. Flag Code to the letter.

On Monday morning, a long lost of liberal “news” sources and reporters attacked Trump for raising the flag back to full staff after it had been lowered to half staff in honor of Senator John McCain’s death. These purported journalists said that the flag was raised back to full staff too early.

These so-called “reporters” insisted it was an unheard of snub to McCain.

Or, they lied by omission:

So, what was the lie by omission? How were the reporters wrong? Only in that the White House followed the U.S. Flag Code to the letter.

According to the flag code, when a U.S. Senator dies the flag is lowered to half staff on the day of death and for another day afterward. That is exactly what the White House did.

According to the flag code,  this is how to handle honors (my bold):

The flag of the United States shall be flown at half-staff on all buildings, grounds, and naval vessels of the Federal Government in the metropolitan area of the District of Columbia on the day of death and on the following day upon the death of a United States Senator, Representative, Territorial Delegate, or the Resident Commissioner from the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, and it shall also be flown at half-staff on all buildings, grounds, and naval vessels of the Federal Government in the State, Congressional District, Territory, or Commonwealth of such Senator, Representative, Delegate, or Commissioner, respectively, from the day of death until interment.

Yet, the fake news is attacking Trump as if he did something unimaginable!

This is how the media works, folks. They lie. All day, every day.
