Here We Go Again: NFL Players Take Knee During National Anthem at Pre-Season Game

Here we go again… several Miami Dolphins players took a knee during the national anthem while others raised a militant black power fist to protest against the United States.

If the NFL thought that it had settled this issue and put an end to these anti-American protests, apparently the league has another think coming.

Three Dolphins players either knelt, or raised a fist during the playing of the national anthem on Thursday night.

Dolphins wide receiver Kenny Stills and newly acquired receiver Albert Wilson knelt during the anthem, while defensive end Robert Quinn raised his fist.

Naturally President Donald Trump immediately jumped to his Twitter account to decry the continued protests against our country by these coddled, millionaire players.

The president wrote: “The NFL players are at it again – taking a knee when they should be standing proudly for the National Anthem. Numerous players, from different teams, wanted to show their “outrage” at something that most of them are unable to define. They make a fortune doing what they love. Be happy, be cool! A football game, that fans are paying soooo much money to watch and enjoy, is no place to protest. Most of that money goes to the players anyway. Find another way to protest. Stand proudly for your National Anthem or be Suspended Without Pay!”

The league tried to bush this all off with a statement about the protests coming bak to vex fans.

NFL Spokesman Brian McCarthy issued the following statement:

There has been no change in the NFL’s policy regarding the national anthem. The anthem will continue to be played before every game, and all player and non-player personnel on the field at that time are expected to stand during the presentation of the flag and performance of the anthem. Personnel who do not wish to do so can choose to remain in the locker room.

We remain committed to working with the players to identify solutions and to continue making progress on important social issues affecting our communities.

Meanwhile, the NFL has lost millions of viewers over the last two seasons. If these protests continue, you can count on the fact that many more will leave their football habit behind.
