President Donald Trump has nearly doubled his support among the nation’s African American voters over the past year, a new report says.
Rasmussen’s daily tracking poll shows that Trump’s approval rate among blacks has spiked from 15 percent in 2017 to 29 percent today.

The poll comes along with news of black unemployment at a rock bottom number of 5.9 percent — making it the lowest ever recorded since the statistic started being measured back in 1972.
According to CNN Money:
The black unemployment rate fell to 5.9% in May — the lowest since the government started keeping track in 1972.
It’s a notoriously volatile number, but the trend is clear: This economy is strong, and everyone is reaping the rewards.
“The jobs market is firing on all pistons. It is benefiting all workers,” said Tony Bedikian, head of global markets at Citizens Bank. “There are more jobs to be had for all Americans.”
As the overall unemployment rate continues to fall — the lowest since 2000 — it’s also shrinking the gap between black and white unemployment. It is the narrowest on record.
Black unemployment dropped sharply last month, down from 6.6% in April. The gap between black and white unemployment shrank to 2.4 percentage points, the first time on record it’s been less than 3 points.
It is no wonder more blacks are looking favorably at the president. After all, as a group they are doing better financially under Trump than they ever did under Obama and many see his support for Christian beliefs, too. Not to mention his strong leadership, a trait generally loved by the black community.
Indeed, as we posted here yesterday, during a recent White House meeting of black religious leaders, Christian Pastor Darrell Scott had high praise for Trump.
“This is probably the most pro-active administration regarding urban America and the faith-based community in my lifetime,” Scott said.
“This president actually wants to prove something to our community, our faith-based community and our ethnic community. The last president didn’t feel like he had to. He got a pass,” added Scott. “This is probably going to be… the most pro-black president I’ve seen in my lifetime.”
Scott is far from the only prominent black person who has praised Trump. Recently rapper Kanye West took slings and arrows from left-wing Hollywood for his kind words for Trump and black commentators Diamond and Silk have become media stars for their stalwart support of the president.
In any case, this is all VERY bad news for Democrats. They are so used to taking the black vote for granted that if Trump really is able to eat into their solid lock on the black vote — even by an additional ten percent — this could cause a lot of upset plans for the left.
