Rand Paul Excoriates the Senate for their Derangement

Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) has been making the rounds on broadcast and cable news shows to decry the constant attacks on President Trump.

He’s argued that a strange form of “Trump Derangement Syndrome” has infected the media and the Democrat Party, and that these people are doing a disservice to our country by attacking literally everything the President says or does.

Paul is particularly focused on our relationship with Russia, which he argues is something we should be trying to improve… not undermine.

He recently took his message to the Senate floor and blasted his colleagues for allowing the derangement of the media to infect their Chamber.

Trump Derangement Syndrome has officially come to the Senate. The hatred for the President is so intense that partisans would rather risk war than give diplomacy a chance. Does anybody remember that Ronald Reagan sat down with Gorbachev and lessened the nuclear tensions? We need to still have those open talks.

Nobody is saying or excusing Russia’s meddling in our elections. Absolutely, we should protect the integrity of our elections. But simply bringing the hatred of the president to the Senate floor in order to say, ‘We’re done with diplomacy, we’re going to add more sanctions and more sanctions’…

The hatred for the president is so intense that partisans would rather risk war than give diplomacy a chance… This has got to stop. This is crazy hatred of the president. We don’t have to have war, we can still have engagement…

We should stand firm and say, ‘Stay the hell out of our elections,’ but we should not stick our head in the ground and say we’re not going to talk to them.
