The media reaction to the Trump-Putin summit is in no way surprising, but the media claims the President is bewildered by it.
The media reaction to the historic Trump-Putin summit has been spectacular in it’s rage, but in no way has it been surprising. Yet CNN, relying on alleged leaks, believes that Donald Trump didn”t expect the media to lash out at him.
Now, his aides are wondering how he’ll respond to anger from even his staunchest supporters after he sided with Putin over US intelligence agencies investigating Russian interference in the 2016 election.
He offered a defiant rebuke of his critics mid-Tuesday morning, writing on Twitter: “While I had a great meeting with NATO, raising vast amounts of money, I had an even better meeting with Vladimir Putin of Russia.”
“Sadly, it is not being reported that way – the Fake News is going Crazy!” he proclaimed.
Earlier, Trump thanked Sen. Rand Paul […] who had defended Trump in television interviews, saying he’s been the focus of a “partisan investigation” over Russia and that the President is “sensitive to that.”
Donald Trump has been portrayed as a moron ever since he announced his campaign. Yet he beat every other Republican candidate to win the primary. Then, while the media confidently declared that he would lose in a landslide to Hillary Clinton, he broke the Democrat coalition to become President. Since then we have had fake news story after fake news story.
Is there any way to believe that Donald Trump is so delusional to expect any other media reaction? He experienced the response back when he first made diplomacy with Russia a campaign promise. Why would he expect anything but hysteria from them when he starts to deliver on that campaign promise?
I don’t have access to Donald Trump’s personal feelings or private thoughts, but neither does CNN despite their gossip sources. Maybe I’m wrong and the President IS genuinely surprised.
But until I see proof, I’m going to remain skeptical.
