Not on Memorial Day weekend, and not in the United States of America: That’s the message that a crowd of high school softball fans sent the announcers this weekend as they attempted to mitigate some controversy.
Of course, this could only occur in California: A state whose geographical majority are held hostage by the wealthy, beachside population swell much in the same way that New York State’s conservatives are being smothered by the overly-dense liberal hive known as The Big Apple.
So, in order to avoid the “controversy” of having to decide whether or not to stand for the National Anthem of these United States, the announcer at the game between Clovis and Buchanan high schools announced that there would be no such opportunity.
“There will be no anthem, let’s just play softball,” the announcer said, according to the Fresno Bee.
They would simply not be playing the Start Spangled Banner before the contest.
Fans had another idea.
Before Clovis High played Buchanan Friday night for the Central Section softball championship, the announcer representing the section stated there wouldn’t be a national anthem prior to the game.
Those in attendance at Fresno State’s Margie Wright Diamond weren’t having any of that.
Following a loud chorus of boos, the patriotic crowd stood up and began singing “The Star-Spangled Banner” a cappella.
Many removed their hats and placed their hands over their hearts. Others simply stood tall with pride.
Players stopped their pregame warmups to turn around and face the American flag that waved beyond the center-field wall.
When the song was over, the crowd burst into a round of applause.

Only in California could the National Anthem, the song that best represents your ability to complain about our government and our society, be considered some sort of faux pas. It’s as if the liberal left doesn’t want you to think about your freedoms. It’s almost as if, *gasp*, the ultraliberal left were nothing more than neo-Fascists looking to control every aspect of society by allowing the court of public opinion to supersede the laws of the land.
In fact, this is nothing new. The anti-First Amendment riots in Berkeley, California were completely liberal machinations, as is the rampant censorship of conservative news and satire in social media – the equivalent of modern day Nazi book burning.
As long as patriots still exist, however, this nation has a fighting chance against the Deep State and the tip of their liberal spear.
