This is a crazy story!
For anyone who has ever been out to a restaurant, I would think that a story like this would be almost unbelievable.
Sadly, there are pictures, video, and witness statements proving that this actually occurred…
It all happened a few days ago at a Cheesecake Factory restaurant in the Dadeland Mall in Miami, Florida. On Sunday night 22-year-old Eugenior Joseph went out to dinner with his girlfriend and her family, and made the mistake of wearing his red Make America Great Again (MAGA) cap.
I say “made the mistake” because of what happened to him next.
A female employee of the restaurant noticed Joseph’s hat and began signaling her coworkers to come and see what she was seeing.
Things quickly grew out of control as the Daily Wire explains:
“Her finger was literally on top of his head, we were all looking at her like ‘what is happening?'” one witness told The Daily Wire. “She was pointing at him, calling her other coworkers, telling them to look at this guy wearing a Make America Great Again hat.”
At that point, approximately a dozen or so employees approached the table and began making comments about the hat, with some saying they wanted to punch Joseph in the face. Witnesses also allege that some of the employees also referred to him as a “n**ger” in their conversations among each other.
“So then all the employees started standing there, saying things out loud, like, ‘I’m going to knock his head in so hard his hat’s going to come off,” the witness continued.
One of the employees gave Joseph intimidating looks, clenching his fists and making hand gestures that appeared to indicate that he was ready to engage in a fistfight.
“He got behind me and another coworker came by and they were staring at each other and he fist bumped him and then he started looking at me, balling his fists, smacking his fists, trying to scare me,” Joseph told The Daily Wire…
Employees at the restaurant continued to mock and intimidate Joseph after he got up to use the restroom.
“I got up and went to the restroom, my girlfriend followed me, and as we were walking back, a group of [the employees] came out from the back and they just started clapping and yelling, and just screaming things at me,” Joseph says.
Another witness verified the claims, saying that the employees in the kitchen were booing Joseph loudly as he walked by.
One of the witnesses said that the event was so traumatic and threatening that an elderly woman who was present had to take medication to calm herself down.
Another witness said that the event was terrifyingly reminiscent of what he thought a “lynch mob” would have looked like, with the crowd of angry workers gathering menacingly around the family.
In fact, folks in the restaurant must have been truly worried because someone called the police to come and give the family aid. As Joseph and his party left the restaurant they were met by arriving police who documented the incident but did not file charges.
Witnesses also say that the manager was finally made aware of the situation as the family was leaving and that as he walked them out he could be heard saying that some of the staff had admitted their behavior and someone had even been sent home.
While Joseph and his friends may have been unwilling to press charges, this could (and should) become a major issue for the Cheesecake Factory and their parent company. This kind of behavior is completely unacceptable and the community should demand that the restaurant compensate Joseph and his friends for the way they were treated.
For their part, the restaurant’s corporate leadership has released a statement apologizing for the situation and promising that they are investigating what happened:
No guest should ever feel unwelcomed in one of our restaurants and we are taking this matter very seriously. Upon learning of this incident, we immediately apologized to the guests in person. We are conducting an investigation and will take the appropriate corrective action.
The “appropriate” action would be to fire all of the offending employees and sending a strong signal across corporate America, particularly the service industry, that Americans will NOT allow businesses to mistreat guests based solely on their political beliefs.
Every American should be disgusted by the behavior of these Cheesecake Factory workers, just as we would be disgusted if something similar had happened to Obama supporters at a Chick-fil-A. But you know what… this wouldn’t happen at a Chick-fil-A because they train their workers better, and conservatives wouldn’t do this to Obama supporters because we’d understand that everyone has the right to their own political opinions.
This is yet another perfect example of the disastrous collapse of the modern American left, and the ugly face of liberal fascism.
