Trump Economy Not Yet Saving Gibson from Obama Police State

The same media that reports Russia conspiracy theories told us there was no Obama police state behind the assault (literally!) on Gibson.

Gibson Guitars may or may not be a victim of the Obama police state. But the possibility ought to be investigated. The company is declaring bankruptcy.

Variety reports, “Gibson, Iconic Guitar Company, Files for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy Protection.

As expected, Gibson Brands Inc. filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection early Tuesday, the company announced today, with a turnaround plan that will give some of the company’s lenders equity ownership of the long-running guitar and musical equipment company that has become synonymous with classic rock and roll.

After several years of decline, the company has reached a restructuring support agreement with holders of more than 69.0% in principal amount of its 8.875% Senior Secured Notes due 2018, and its principal shareholders, that clears the pathway for the continued financing and operations of the musical instruments business as well as a change of control in favor of those noteholders.

Hopefully, Gibson can come back from the abyss.

But let’s remember recent history. The effect of the Obama police state operation against Gibson may not have dealt the decisive blow, but it couldn’t have helped. And the same media that eagerly reports on a dossier as if it was proof of anything considered the Obama administration above all suspicion.

But it was a corrupt banana republic junta.

As Investors’ Business Daily wrote in 2013, “Now The Gibson Guitar Raids Make Sense.

In another raid, the feds found materials imported from India, claiming they too moved across the globe in violation of Indian law. […]

Interestingly, one of Gibson’s leading competitors is C.F. Martin & Co. According to C.F. Martin’s catalog, several of their guitars contain “East Indian Rosewood,” which is the exact same wood in at least 10 of Gibson’s guitars. […]

Grossly underreported at the time was the fact that Gibson’s chief executive, Henry Juszkiewicz, contributed to Republican politicians. […]

By contrast, Chris Martin IV, the Martin & Co. CEO, is a long-time Democratic supporter, with $35,400 in contributions to Democratic candidates and the Democratic National Committee over the past couple of election cycles.

“We feel that Gibson was inappropriately targeted,” Juszkiewicz said at the time, adding the matter “could have been addressed with a simple contact (from) a caring human being representing the government. Instead, the government used violent and hostile means.”

That includes what Gibson described as “two hostile raids on its factories by agents carrying weapons and attired in SWAT gear where employees were forced out of the premises, production was shut down, goods were seized as contraband and threats were made that would have forced the business to close.”

The level of sleaze and violence present in the Obama administration is now present in the agents of the Obama administration in CNN, the FBI, and elsewhere.
