Democrat Leader tells Kanye West She Knows What’s Best for Him!

Written by Onan Coca

Would you like to read the most condescending statement in the news today?

I bet you would.

The special moment comes to us care of one of America’s most condescending Nanny-Statists, Congresswoman Maxine Waters (D-CA).

Sure, you may know Waters as the corrupt, hypocritical politician from California…but Kanye is getting to know her as the lady who thinks she knows how to run his life, better than he does.

Waters was in Oakland on Monday with fellow Democrat Representative, Barbara Lee and other members of the Congressional Black Caucus (CBC). They were there pressing Silicon Valley’s leaders to continue promoting diversity as a goal in their organizations, when a reporter from POLITICO asked Waters about Kanye West’s recent comments in support of President Trump.

Ironically, while Waters was pushing for more diversity in Silicon Valley, she was hypocritically demagoguing Kanye West for choosing to stray from the Democrat plantation. Apparently for Waters, diversity of skin color is the only kind of diversity she wants to see. Diversity of thought brings out her inner hater.

From Politico:

— “Kanye West is a very creative young man who has presented some of the most revolutionary material in the African-American community.… But we also think that sometimes Kanye West talks out of turn and perhaps sometimes he needs some assistance in helping him to formulate some of his thoughts.”

— “We don’t think that he actually means to do harm, but we’re not sure he really understands the impact of what he’s saying, at the time that he’s saying it and how that weighs on, particularly the African American community — and for young people in general. … And I think maybe he should think twice about politics, and maybe not have so much to say. “

Wow.

That is incredibly condescending.

Waters calls West a “creative young man”… Um, he’s 40 years old. I’m pretty sure that he’s old enough to have formed his own, educated opinions and he probably doesn’t need Waters telling him when to speak.

Also, what does she mean that West was talking “out of turn?” He’s an American citizen, he can’t speak out of turn when it comes to his own political and cultural beliefs. Not to mention, he’s not preaching during his concerts, he’s not appearing on TV or in a movie telling Americans how they should vote, he simply tweeted his support for free thinkers (and President Trump).

She says he’s doing harm and doesn’t understand the impact he’s having, which is utterly ridiculous. He may be doing “harm” to Waters’ cause, but I would bet that West knows exactly what he’s doing and understand the implications of every word he says.

Waters’ comments are dripping with condescension and they are completely uncalled for. Kanye West, and every other black (and every other ethnicity) American, have every right to believe and say whatever they damn well please. It’s not Maxine Waters’ job to tell us what we should say or when we should say it.

I hope that Kanye West keeps speaking out for what he believes, and that he doesn’t allow himself to be silenced by all of the hate from the Left.
