Judge Tells Murderer He Hopes She Dies in Prison

A Judge in Jackson, MI did what so many of us have wanted to do when reading about or watching a trial on television. He said exactly what he thought about the violent and cold criminal sitting in his courtroom. His words have made him an online sensation and a cult-hero to many Americans.

What did he say to make himself famous?

He told convicted murderer Camia Gamet that he hoped she died in prison. (Cue Gasp)

Why would a judge flip out on someone in his courtroom like this? The accused and then convicted murderer was rude and disrespectful to the judge, the family of the victim, and to the court in general.

For example when the victim’s aunt spoke to the court during sentencing, the cold-blooded killer cut her off and said, “Is that it?” Prompting Judge John McBain to angrily shout her down.

“You gutted him like a fish in that apartment too. You were relentless. You stabbed. You stabbed. You stabbed. You stabbed. You stabbed until he was dead… I agree with the family, I hope you die in prison, as well. You know, if this was a death penalty state, you’d be given the chair.”

It was a moment that left everyone, including the murderer herself, awestruck.

Across the state and the nation people added their two cents about what they thought of the judge’s reaction. Reaction was split between people who though the judge should be more disconnected from the case, and those who believed he acted in an appropriate manner. Judge McBain responded to the controversy he stirred online.

“Sometimes, I think a judge needs a little fire in the right kind of cases… I don’t think anything I did was wrong.” He also thought people should realize that judges and lawyers have a very personal connection to every murder trial they participate in, so it’s hard to always act in a dispassionate manner, “I had to go through hundreds of pictures of the crime scene and the autopsy,” McBain said.

Well, I for one have no problem with Judge McBain’s reaction, and after watching video of some of the trial, it certainly seems as though he was justified in acting the way he did. Gamet is a vicious killer who took advantage of a man who loved her and then showed the court and the victim’s family no respect. The judge’s words were not overly harsh; they were simply accurate. We need more folks willing to speak truth to power even when it’s inconvenient for politically correct liberals.

There’s another reason they don’t like Judge McBain… he’s pro-death penalty. Yep. They hate him.
