Okay, so maybe most conservatives, or gun owners, are not surprised… but the media cronies at NBC sure seem to be.
In the poll, 58 percent agree with the statement that gun ownership does more to increase safety by allowing law-abiding citizens to protect themselves.
By contrast, 38 percent say that gun ownership reduces safety by giving too many people access to firearms, increasing the chances for accidental misuse.
These findings represent a reversal from 1999, when a majority — 52 percent — said gun ownership reduces safety.
And they come at a time when 47 percent of American adults say they have a firearm in the household, up from 44 percent in 1999.
This comes just weeks after the shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida and in the wake of the mainstream media’s all-out assault on the 2nd Amendment, and still an overwhelming number of Americans believe that we are better off with civil gun ownership.
This shouldn’t surprise anyone because… of course, you’re safer if you have the ability to defend yourself than you would be without the ability to defend yourself!
There was more surprising news in the poll for the media, as it found that President Trump’s approval rating hasn’t taken the slide that NBC seemed to expect his rating to have taken.
If math isn’t your strong suit, the poll found that 43% of those polled generally approve of President Trump, while 53% still disapprove.
These numbers cannot be heartening for the left who have been unrelenting in their attacks on President Trump over the last year or so.
In fact, this 43% number is actually near the height of President Trump’s approval rating and would seem to indicate that he likely won’t be a drag on GOP politicians in the coming midterm elections.
The biggest these numbers indicate is that most Americans still have common sense, and they haven’t gotten lost in the media’s never-ending tirade against Donald Trump and the GOP.
