Tucker Blasts Trump’s “Betrayal” on Guns: ‘Imagine If Obama Said That’

Uh, oh. Even Fox News host Tucker Carlson is picking a bone with President Trump over recent his gun control policies.

Many people feel betrayed by the Trump administration, and many Republicans have broken with the president after recent comments.

“The ideas the president ran on are basically right,” Carlson said, “‘America First’ ought to be the operating principle of every administration – by definition.”

He said the non-Trump alternative – the Democratic Party – is “scary” and “completely irresponsible.”

But, Carlson warned that Trump’s pointed remarks on gun control during a White House meeting rightfully caused concern among much of his base.

He pointed out how Trump verbally criticized Sen. Pat Toomey (R-Pa.) as possibly being afraid to act on gun control because of the NRA’s political power.

Trump then said that in important cases, government should “take the guns first, then go through due process.”

“Imagine if Barack Obama had said that,” Carlson continued, and added that if it had been Obama, people would have immediately called for his impeachment.


I see this as a 4D move because I can’t see the whole board but I trust Trump is making decisions with the best intentions for Americans
