In the midsts of mass shootings and school shootings, liberals like to make out the National Rifle Association (NRA) as the bad guys…when in reality, not a single shooting has been carried out by an NRA member.
Why is the organization continuously blamed for something that none of its members have done?
Fiery NRA spokeswoman Dana Loesch guest starred on “Fox & Friends” on Thursday to speak out about pressing gun control.
“There’s a way that you can respect and protect due process and the rights of millions of Americans while also hardening our schools and keeping our kids safe,” Loesch continued, “NRA members, we’re moms and dads too.”
In the wake of the deadly shooting at a Florida high school on Valentine’s Day, lawmakers and activists have floated proposals aimed at keeping guns out of the hands of people who should not have them, some of which — such as raising the minimum age for buying long guns to 21 from 18 — the NRA opposes.
She said the NRA supports “actionable solutions” for school shootings, such as the National School Shield program, which is focused on improving school security in an effort to help prevent national tragedies.
She pointed out that Florida gunman Nikolas Cruz was able to legally purchase the AR-15 used in the shooting because his history of mental illness did not come up in his background check and dozens of tips and red flags were mishandled by law enforcement.
“When you talk about the background check system and you talk about keeping firearms out of the hands of those who are mentally unstable and therefore dangerous to themselves or others, this is something that we’re all in agreement on,” she added.
