President Donald Trump’s daughter-in-law was hospitalized on Monday after she opened a letter addressed to her husband, Donald Trump Jr., and found it filled with a “white powder.”

Although the powder has been deemed in hazardous by New York City police, Vanessa Trump was still taken to the hospital as a precaution. They are still unsure what the powder is or why it was mailed to Trump Jr.

Fox News reports:

A hazmat crew was called to the scene and began decontamination procedures shortly after the incident.

Trump Jr. is the eldest son of the president. He married Vanessa in 2005. The couple has five children, though it was not clear if any were home at the time of the incident.

Police and Secret Service are investigating the incident.

A statement was released from the Secret Service that said,  “The Secret Service and our law enforcement partners in New York City are investigating a suspicious package addressed to one of our protectees received today in New York, New York. This is an active investigation and we cannot comment any further.”

NBC News reports:

There is no indication anyone suffered any injuries; the NYPD said the substance was deemed to be non-hazardous and was taken to a lab for further analysis.

“How disturbed must a person be to do what they did to a mother of five children?” Michael Cohen, President Trump’s personal attorney, said in a statement. “This dangerous and reckless act goes beyond political differences.”
