Special Election Results from Florida’s 13 – Republican David Jolly Wins!


The results from the special election in Florida to fill out Republican Bill Young’s term are in, and Republican David Jolly has defeated Democrat Alex Sink and Libertarian Lucas Overby.

Percent Votes

David W. Jolly (REP) 48.43% 88,294

Alex Sink (DEM) 46.56% 84,877

Lucas Overby (LPF) 4.83% 8,799

WRITE-IN 0.18% 325

Pundits from both sides were looking to this election as a bellwether for the 204 midterms in November.

Florida’s 3 is a swing district that leans just slightly Republican.

It has been represented by a Republican for 50 years but voted for Obama in 2008 and 2012.
