Are we back in elementary school or daycare? When you don’t like what someone has to say you try to send them to time out?
Democrat Adam Schiff got upset about President Trump’s criticisms of him and replied that Chief of Staff John Kelly ought to “give [Trump] a time-out.”
On Monday President Trump tweeted out, “Little Adam Schiff, who is desperate to run for higher office, is one of the biggest liars and leakers in Washington, right up there with [former FBI Director Jim] Comey, [Virginia Democratic Sen. Mark] Warner, [former CIA Director John] Brennan and [former Director of National Intelligence James] Clapper!”
He added, “Adam leaves closed committee hearings to illegally leak confidential information. Must be stopped!”
Rep. Schiff replied on Twitter, “Mr. President, I see you’ve had a busy morning of “Executive Time.” Instead of tweeting false smears, the American people would appreciate it if you turned off the TV and helped solve the funding crisis, protected Dreamers or…really anything else.”
The Congressman also suggested that the push of the FISA memo release by Committee Chairman Devin Nunes’ was to “undermine the FBI, discredit the FBI, and do the president’s bidding.”
Nunes later responded on Fox News Channel, saying Democrats like Schiff keep trying to incriminate Trump in regard to Russian collusion, but keep “coming up with goose eggs.”
Speaking with Sciutto, Schiff said Trump’s tweet was a “baseless attack” and countered that he is careful not to disclose classified information obtained in sessions with Nunes and the rest of the committee.
The Massachusetts native said it has become “confusing” that Trump has gone from calling him “Sleazy Adam Schiff” to “Little Adam Schiff.”
“It’s often hard to understand the president’s tweets,” he said. “It may be time for General Kelly to give the president a ‘time-out’. The country would certainly benefit from that anyway.”
