Using Ellen DeGeneres’ show, Michelle Obama encourages her followers to dismiss the Trump victory as not representing the nation.
We can learn something about the psychology of the Left by observing how Michelle Obama encourages Progressives. She doesn’t use the rhetoric of “the resistance.” She doesn’t commend Antifa tactics. But she doesn’t condemn any of that either.
Instead, she covers up the overwhelming hatred on the part of the Left with the rhetoric of love and empathy.
And despite admitting that Trump represents a sizable portion of the country, she insists that the victory can be ignored as “not necessarily who we are.”
The Hill reports, “Michelle Obama to frightened Americans: ‘All we have is hope.’”
“People are afraid, but then there are people who feel good about the direction of the country, so I mean, that’s what makes this country complicated because it’s made up of so many different people from different backgrounds,” Obama tells DeGeneres.[…]
“I would just encourage your viewers, the country, to do the things we do every day: to love each other, to take care of each other, to show empathy ”[…]
“So, let’s just keep living our lives like that every single day and forget what they’re saying in Washington. That’s not necessarily who we are. We know who we are.”
