White House Office of Management and Budget Director Mick Mulvaney made a prediction on Friday that the government shutdown will last less than 24 hours. He believes that within that time, a deal will be reached.
Lets hope for America’s sake, the deal does not include amnesty for DACA recipients.
“I think there’s a deal in the next 24 hours,” he said “I look at it more in terms of what gets done before offices are supposed to open on Monday, and I think you’re going to see a deal.”
The government shut down last night at midnight after Congress failed to pass the new spending bill. However, since it was a Friday, Mulvaney says that it gives them time to fix it before federal offices are to reopen on Monday.

However, military troops are still expected to show up for duty during the shutdown, without pay. How is that right?
Trump was set to leave for Mar A Lago over the weekend for a getaway, however his plans have been cancelled in light of the spending deadlock.
“He’s not leaving until this is finished,” Mulvaney added.
The White House has voiced optimism about the prospects of averting a shutdown, even as the outcome of spending talks on Capitol Hill remains uncertain as the deadline approaches.
Trump hailed an “excellent” meeting with Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer(D-N.Y.) earlier Friday and declared progress toward resolving the impasse.
Schumer, however, sounded less optimistic, saying the two sides still have a “good number of disagreements” on immigration and spending, even though progress was made.
It’s a sad day when Democrats would rather protect 700,000 illegal immigrants opposed to:
- 1.3 million American soldiers
- Tens of thousands of homeless Veterans
- Millions of American children in poverty
- Hundreds of thousands of homeless AMericans
- Millions of children needing CHIP
Democrats do not care about Americans.
