The Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) is the biggest event of each year for politically active conservatives and 2014 is no different. The biggest conservative gathering of the year starts today, Thursday March 6, and will run through Saturday night. Conservatives from all over the country will converge on the Gaylord Resort and Conference Center at the Washington National Harbor where they will listen, strategize and mingle in the hopes of strengthening conservative chances at victory in 2014.
And that’s what its all about, isn’t it? 2014?
This year’s midterm elections may be a watershed moment. Conservatives have a wonderful opportunity to stop the bleeding caused by eight long years of liberal control of Congress. The country has taken a beating over that time and average Americans are starting to realize that their votes have BIG implications. We cannot allow the liberals to continue running the country, if we wish to have a country left to hand over to our children.
CPAC will mark the beginning of a season of political hope that conservatives are bringing to Americans everywhere. It is here in Washington, DC where we will begin to build momentum toward the November midterms and for the first time in a decade… Republican control of Congress.
CPAC will be filled with wonderful speakers, meaty rhetoric and calls to action. Likeminded citizens will meet and discuss the best courses of actions to take over the next few months, all in an effort to win 2014 and to set the stage for victory in 2016. Wonderful leaders like Ted Cruz, Rand Paul, Mike Lee, Dr. Ben Carson and many others will work to encourage their listeners and rally the base in preparation for the work that lies ahead.
Most of all CPAC is a moment for optimism as we conservatives consider all the good that we could do – given the chance. Here’s to 2014 and to an exciting next few days at CPAC!
