The UN will rue the day they crossed the United States in a vote to reject Trump’s deacon to recognize Jerusalem as Israel’s capital.

U.S. Ambassador to the U.N. Nikki Haley addressed the U.N. on their tasteless vote, and allowed them the courtesy of knowing that their actions will have consequences. No longer will they have the privilege of holding out an open hand to the U.S.

On Thursday, Haley sent invitations to the 65 countries who backed the United States in the U.N.’s General Assembly to denounce Trump’s decision.

IJR reports:

In the invitation to the Jan. 3 reception, Haley asked the countries who supported the United States’ position in the vote to attend “a reception to thank you for your friendship to the United States.”

The move appears to be a step toward the United States publicly taking notice of who supports its agenda moving forward, which Haley hinted it would do on Thursday.

Prior to the U.N. vote, Haley offered a direct warning to those who opposed the United States’ new stance regarding Israel’s capital, stating that the country would remember who “disrespected” America by voting against it.

“When a nation is singled out for attack in this organization, that nation is disrespected. What’s more, that nation is asked to pay for the privilege of being disrespected. In the case of the United States, we are asked to pay more than anyone else for that dubious privilege,” Haley continued,  “The United States is by far the single largest contributor to the United Nations and its agencies.”

On Thursday, the General Assembly voted overwhelmingly against Trump’s recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital 128-9, with 35 abstentions. Twenty-one countries were not present during the vote.

Haley said in her speech to address the U.N., “We will remember [this day] when we are called on once again to make the world’s largest contribution to the United Nations,” Haley continued,  “And we will remember it when so many countries come calling on us as the so often do to pay even more and to use our influence for their benefit.”

She added, “The United States will remember this day in which it was singled out for attack in the general assembly for the very act of exercising our right as a sovereign nation.”
