Senator Ted Cruz slammed former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn after he pleaded guilty for making false statements to the FBI. Cruz said that it is “disappointing and disturbing.”

Fox News Insider reports:

As part of the plea deal, Flynn has agreed to cooperate with the Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation, which is looking into Russian interference in the 2016 U.S. presidential election.

“Gen. Flynn has many decades of honorable service defending this nation. And it is sad to see that he is now pleading guilty to criminal conduct,” he continued on “The Daily Briefing.” “That gives all of us reason to pause.”

He noted that there are multiple investigations into Russian meddling in the election and they all have a long way to go.

Flynn, a retired Army lieutenant general, is the first Trump ex-White House official charged in Mueller’s probe.

“I think we should wait until we see all the facts and all the evidence before coming to a final judgment,” Cruz added.

The FBI reports that Flynn entered a guilty plea on Friday and then claimed that the president “directed him to make contact with the Russians.”

So what exactly is Flynn going to say when he testifies and to what extent will his words be taken? If Flynn lies and completely paints Trump in red, will that be just the check that Democrats take to the bank?
