The ABC bombshell was that Michael Flynn said Trump told him to contact Russians during the campaign, but that’s not what he said!
The ABC bombshell that caused a dip in the stock market was more fake news. To their credit, ABC has corrected the report.
They originally reported that the testimony of Michael Flynn was that he was told to communicate with the Russians by Donald Trump when he was only a candidate. This didn’t bother me because there would have been nothing for Russia to “collude” with the Trump campaign to do. They couldn’t get Trump elected (despite the fairy tales about Facebook ads programming the electorate). And Trump would never sell policy to the Russians. His “pro-Russia” positions were part of his America First campaign from the very beginning.
Nevertheless, the entire issue is based on a falsehood, because that wasn’t what Flynn said.
CNN reports, “ABC News corrects bombshell Flynn report.”
ABC News on Friday evening corrected an explosive special report that aired in the morning saying that Donald Trump, as a candidate for president, had asked Michael Flynn to make contact with Russians.
During “World News Tonight,” ABC News investigative reporter Brian Ross said the source who had provided the initial information for his story later told him that it was as president-elect, not as a candidate, that Trump asked Flynn to contact the Russians.
