She condemns Donald Trump for retweeting the “far right” because in England that kind of thing is punished in the courts.
If you want to know why British Prime Minister Theresa May condemns Donald Trump so strongly you must remember that she expects people to go to jail for putting stuff quite similar to that on social media. The police will show up and arrest you for what you tweet.
I don’t know if the video footage that Donald Trump retweeted is genuine or a dramatization of what life is like in Holland. There are plenty of news stories that both reveal these kind of crimes and the government’s efforts to keep others from learning about these incidents.
Business Insider UK reports, “Theresa May condemns Donald Trump for retweeting anti-Muslim hate videos from the British far right.”
Theresa May, through a spokesman, has condemned US President Donald Trump for retweeting Islamophobic videos posted by a leader of the British far-right.
The spokesman for the British prime minister said it was “wrong” for Trump to have broadcast the footage to his 43 million Twitter followers on Wednesday morning.
“Britain first seeks to divide communities through their use of hateful narratives which peddle lies and stoke tensions,” the spokesman said at a press briefing attended by Business Insider. “They cause anxiety to law-abiding people.”
He continued: “British people overwhelmingly reject the prejudice of the far right, which is the antithesis of the values that this country represents: decency, tolerance, and respect. It is wrong for the president to have done this.”
Pretty bold words in defense of a government that has actively imported communities hostile to Britain!
