It the Archbishop of Canterbury doesn’t understand why Christians support Donald Trump, perhaps he should not give interviews on world events.

The Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, says he doesn’t understand why American Christians support Donald Trump.

If getting to England’s top ecclesiastical position takes any intelligence at all, then Welby is telling a lie. Any literate person looking at Hillary Clinton’s platform next to Donald Trump’s will see immediately why Christians would support Trump and thank God that he won.

England’s top religious authority, the Archbishop of Canterbury, said Sunday that he doesn’t understand why so many Christians in the U.S. support President Donald Trump.

The Most Reverend Justin Welby told ITV’s “Peston on Sunday” program that he “really genuinely” can’t comprehend why fundamentalists have provided such a strong base for Trump.

Then he admitted that “he’s met with worse people” than Donald Trump.

“I spent years and years involved in conflict stuff around the world where I met people who had killed many, many people,” he told ITV.

I didn’t realize the archbishop had met with Barack Obama. Or perhaps he meant the Clintons.
