ACLU Makes a Terrifying Video Showing What the Government Could Do with Surveillance

We don’t often side with the ACLU at Eagle Rising. However, when it comes to the surveillance state that Democrats and Republicans are crafting – we stand shoulder to shoulder. Our government has grown far too powerful and exceeded the restraints crafted by our founders. The NSA now spies on innocent American civilians without warrant or even the suspicion of crime, and our politicians defend their actions.

The courts have thus far upheld much of the surveillance state, and the media has been suckered by the “keeping us safe from terrorism” argument – though our most liberal and our most conservative representatives continue to tell us that the NSA domestic spying program has not yet been found to have stopped (or even discovered) any terrorist threats.

It was with this thought in mind that the ACLU created a little video to show you just how powerful and omnipresent our not-so-benevolent government has become.

It’s chilling isn’t it?

We let this happen. We the people elected the men and women to office who allowed us to not only become a welfare state but also a surveillance state. So, now we know. What will we do about it? What will you do about it?

Demand the at your representatives strip the government of its power to abuse our rights. Demand that they stand against the surveillance state. Demand that our liberty be recognized.
