Senate Republicans finally got something done….shocker. On Thursday night, they passed a fiscal budget for 2018 and according to President Trump, it’s a “really big deal.”

The bill passed with a 51-49 vote.

President Trump tweeted out, “Budget that just passed is a really big deal, especially in terms of what will be the biggest tax cut in U.S. history – MSM barely covered!”

The Hill reports:

The bill is key to Republican efforts to pass tax reform because it includes instructions that allow such a bill to avoid a Democratic filibuster.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) praised the passage of the budget bill and said it would lead to passing the GOP’s tax-reform plan.

McConnell stated, “Passing this budget is critical to getting tax reform done, so we can strengthen our economy after years of stagnation under the previous administration.”

The president added, “The Budget passed late last night, 51 to 49. We got ZERO Democrat votes with only Rand Paul (he will vote for Tax Cuts) voting against.”

He said, “This now allows for the passage of large scale Tax Cuts (and Reform), which will be the biggest in the history of our country!”
