Congresswoman Frederica Wilson accused President Donald Trump of calling the pregnant widow of Army Sgt. La David Johnson, who was killed in Niger earlier this month, and making insensitive comments.
She claims he said that Johnson “knew what he signed up for…but when it happens, it hurts anyway.”
While he did call the widow to offer his condolences, he denies that he said what the Congresswoman is accusing him of.
Democrat Congresswoman totally fabricated what I said to the wife of a soldier who died in action (and I have proof). Sad!

White House Chief of Staff Gen. John Kelly was present while Trump was calling the families of the four Green Berets killed in Niger. On Thursday, he spoke at a press conference, and explained how Trump calls the families of our fallen soldiers.
He said that he is absolutely disgusted at how the congresswoman is acting and what she is accusing Trump of. He said he can’t believe that she would listen into the call the begin with, and then to exploit it afterwards.
Daily Wire reports:
As the White House briefing room sat in awed silence, Kelly recounted his own experience losing a son in battle, how the military responds when one of their own is killed in action, and how the President — the Commander-in-Chief — responds when a United States soldier falls in battle.
Kelly went on to explain how he sat down with President Trump ahead of making condolence calls to the families of American servicemen killed last week in Niger. Kelly says he counseled Trump to express that the soldiers were heroes and brave souls. “There’s nothing you can do to lighten the burden,” Kelly says he told Trump.
Kelly said, “It stuns me, it absolutely stuns me, that a member of Congress would listen in on that conversation,” he continued, “I was stunned and broken hearted at what I saw a member of Congress doing.”
He added that he was so appalled at the situation, that he went up to Arlington National Cemetery and just walked through the headstones for upwards of an hour.

Kelly stated, “Who are these young men and women? They are the best 1% this country produces,” clearly upset that our fallen soldiers are being use as pawns in a political game.
Kelly began to wrap up, “The selfless devotion that brings a man or woman to die on the battlefield … I just thought that that might be sacred,” he concluded, “They don’t do it for any other reason than their sense of selfless devotion to this great nation.”
