The National Rifle Association (NRA) has come in agreement with the gun control advocates on one matter: bump stocks should be regulated.

A bump stock is a gun accessory that allows a semi-automatic gun to perform like a fully-automatic gun. This is what the Las Vegas shooter used to convert his gun in order to hurt more than 500 people, and kill nearly 60.

Perhaps if we throw the dogs a bone, they’ll leave the rest of our gun rights alone? Who knows.

NRA CEO Wayne Lapierre and NRA Executive Director Chris Cox said in a joint statement: “In the aftermath of the evil and senseless attack in Las Vegas, the American people are looking for answers as to how future tragedies can be prevented.”

They spoke about how it was “unfortunate” that the many politicians immediately started speaking about gun control and calling for more regulations. However, they added, “The NRA believes that devices designed to allow semi-automatic rifles to function like fully-automatic rifles should be subject to additional regulations.”

growing number of congressional Republicans have expressed that they’re open to investigating the legality or even banning bump stocks.

The shooter killed 58 people and wounded more than 500.

While Republicans, including President Trump, have dismissed the idea of tightening gun laws and have stressed that it’s not the time to politicize the tragedy, some say they want to look into bump stocks and place restrictions on them.
