Chelsea Handler sounded like a broken record as she struggled to back up her claims of President Donald Trump being a liar during her debate with Tomi Lahren at Politicon.
It’s simple: all she had to do was name a lie that he’s apparently told. Too bad the liberal comedian was left a stuttering mess.
She said, “It’s not just, maybe he is lying. We have it in tweets where he constantly contradicts himself,” Handler continued,”He says one thing then changes his position on things over and over again.”
“It makes me feel unsafe,” she added.
“It makes me feel unsafe as well,” Lahren replied “Which is why I didn’t elect Hillary Clinton.”
Handler did not seem to like the fact that the pantsuit was mentioned….too soon?
“Stop talking, Hillary didn’t win. He won. He won and he is lying almost daily,” Handler retorted.
So, here’s the big question that we all knew was coming. Lahren asked her to name one lie that he’s told. Handler dodged the question, “He lies every day,” she said.
Lahren then requestioned, “What did he lie to you about.” To which Handler says, “There is a whole list but I don’t really want to read the list.”
Mhmmm. Sounds like a cop-out to me. That’s what I would say too if I couldn’t back up my claims.
Here are the two examples that Handler finally gave:
- Trump stating that China was a currency manipulator before changing his mind and saying they aren’t currency manipulators
- Trump saying he was planning to keep Janet Yellen as chairwoman of the U.S. Federal Reserve before changing his mind and not keeping her there.
So apparently changing your mind about something means that you are a liar. I guess Handler has never decided to change dinner plans. Yikes.
Lahren then hit Handler with a mic drop comment: “Kind of like, ‘If you like your health insurance you can keep it.”
To this Handler then mentioned Trump lied about his inauguration crowd size. This was due to former White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer’s comments when he said:
“No one had numbers because the National Park Service, which controls the National Mall, does not put any out,” he said, before going ahead anyway to declare that Trump had attracted “the largest audience ever to witness an inauguration” in person and in the world.
“These attempts to lessen the enthusiasm for the inauguration are shameful and wrong.”
Lahren replied to Handler, “That’s a lie I can live with.”
