Snowden Hides from President Obama

Edward Snowden can rest in peace (that came out wrong). You would think that Edward Snowden could breathe easy because President Obama has said, “I’m not going to be scrambling jets to get a 29-year-old hacker.” If it were twenty years ago, you might think that means it’s all over… but technology has come along way the last couple of decades.

In fact, the President has no need to send jets anywhere because he now has drone technology at his fingertips, and that, my friends, is much more efficient.

If Edward Snowden is a traitor, he should be tried and incarcerated… even if what he has done is for our own good. I am thankful that this information was uncovered, and I appreciate what Snowden has done. However, if he believes himself righteous he should voluntarily stand for trial and face the repercussions of his actions.

If I were Snowden I would feel safer in the public eye, standing trial here in the United States than I would on the run in some country that thinks so little of the USA that they wouldn’t extradite him.

The government has made it clear that they are more than willing to kill US citizens on foreign soil if those citizens show that they may be willing to harm our nation. If Snowden has any information that he still has not released and our government is worried that might get out, they may be more than willing to have him “dealt with” for the “greater good.”

sandiegosnowdenHow far of a leap is it from “traitor” to “enemy combatant”? Especially if he can still do damage by leaking as yet unreleased information.

I don’t believe that President Obama would authorize the killing of a simple computer geek who stole a few secrets, but a couple of months ago I didn’t think the IRS would use their power maliciously to persecute conservatives, I didn’t think that the government would monitor all of our electronic data from phones calls to internet searches, I didn’t think that the government would sell guns to drug cartels, and I didn’t think that the President would ever act as judge, jury, and literal executioner to Americans who have committed crimes and were hiding overseas.

Yeah, if I were Snowden I’d get back here ASAP.
