Turning Heads: TN Gas Station has Controversial Message for Kathy Griffin

If you have not heard about Kathy Griffin and her lack of class in the prior week or so, then you have been living under a rock.

For the rest of you, I will spare you the repetitive details. You already know she is a despicable person but since she did not technically break any laws, she cannot be imprisoned. However, we do have the power to make sure she never has a job in media or entertainment again!

A Tennessee convenience store weighed in on their opinion of Kathy and well, she would not want to meet their demands.

They displayed on their sign that they would pay $50k for Kathy Griffin’s head! Yikes. While I don’t support the sign’s message (come on, that would make us just as bad as Kathy) I understand the company’s disappointment and anger with her.

The Tennessee store is apparently known for the controversial messages they display on their digital sign.

The Knoxville News Sentinel says Lewis Country Store has posted controversial messages before. A message referencing the 2012 Benghazi attack led to Shell Oil cutting ties with the store in October.

Because the sign is on private property and is not encroaching the public right-of-way, the convenience store owner is likely within their First Amendment rights to post such a message, a lawyer told the News Sentinel.

Heck, I say if Kathy can get away with the “art” stunt she pulled then the gas station should be allowed to have their sign too. While neither one is right, they are both within their first amendment.
