Melania Covered Her Head for THIS Religious Tradition

Ivanka also covered her head even though she follows a different religion.

Melania covered her head while accompanying her husband on her first foreign trip. But she did not cover up for Donald Trump’s visit to Saudi Arabia. Even though Trump had, in a past Twitter comment, criticized Michelle Obama for refusing to wear a head scarf, Melania dressed as a modern Western woman.

Perhaps Melania objected to her husband’s tweet about Michelle not wearing the headscarf in Saudi Arabia and changed his mind. Or maybe President Trump had second thoughts on his own and asked Melania not to cover herself.

However, Melania and Ivanka adopted a different practice for visiting the Pope!  The Telegraph published an article under the headline, “Why Melania and Ivanka Trump stuck to traditional Vatican dress codes when meeting Pope Francis today.”

The Trumps arrived in Rome last night, and their first engagement this morning was a headliner in the global tour which they are currently part way through; meeting with Pope Francis at the Vatican.

Both the First Lady, Melania Trump, and the First Daughter, Ivanka Trump, accompanied the President to the high-profile engagement, and both chose to honour the traditional Vatican dress codes by wearing black, long sleeved dresses and veils – the former even choosing to honour her host nation by wearing Italian label Dolce and Gabbana.

It was a somewhat unexpected move, especially given recent news that Pope Francis is keen to relax the strict dress codes to which women must conform to when attending private papal audiences.

The article claims that the reason for her honoring the dress code was to please Pope Francis. But that seems unlikely since he is not in agreement with the code. Another possibility is that the Trumps have publicly shown that they will defer to Christian traditions but not to Islamic ones.
