Heartwarming: Marines Surprise WW2 Vet With Special Gift

I have a giant soft spot for our elderly veterans. It always touches my heart to see someone doing something nice for them! Even if it is something as simple as buying their dinner, it is such a nice gesture that usually makes their day, and it is the least we can do for them after their service to our country.

That is exactly why I could not pass up sharing this heartwarming story!

A group of Marines decided to surprise a World War II veteran with a beautifully special gift: a new American flag to fly outside his home. They retired the flag he had flying for so many years, which had grown to be worn and faded. Captain Robert Woodbury was extremely surprised and touched at the nice gesture.

The 93-year-old veteran was absolutely delighted and could barely contain his joy! He said, “I’m really red white and blue. I’m so pro-American. I’m a Marine… Ooo-Rah.”
