Elton John Admitted to Intensive Care with ‘Potentially Deadly’ Rare Bacterial Infection

Sir Elton Hercules John, otherwise known as Elton John, has been admitted to an intensive care unit at a UK hospital. He is reportedly battling a rare bacterial infection.

While he is expected to make a full recovery, he unfortunately had cancel upcoming performances in Las Vegas.

Variety reports: According to the statement from Rogers and Cowan, after his South American tour, John contracted a rare bacterial infection, and became “violently ill” on his flight home from Chile. He was admitted to the hospital when he returned home to the U.K., and spent two nights in intensive care.

“I am so fortunate to have the most incredible and loyal fans and apologize for disappointing them. I am extremely grateful to the medical team for their excellence in looking after me so well,” John said in a statement.
