Republican Leon Winn Looks to Unseat Democrat James Clyburn in South Carolina

Representative James Clyburn (D-SC) has long represented his district in South Carolina and has provided a liberal voice from one of the nation’s most conservative states. Dr. Leon Winn is looking to change all of that in 2014.

Dr. Winn is a veteran of the Air Force Reserves, a former police officer and a Pastor. He is married with three daughters and three grandkids.

“The only way to bring about change in our country is to change the people we are electing to Congress,” Winn said in the news release. “The hard-working folks of the 6th District deserve someone who will work every day to better their lives and break the gridlock in Washington. It’s time to clean house and get this district working again.”

Folks – I can’t stress this enough. Candidates like Dr. Winn are exactly the kind of candidates we need to get behind. He is up against a prominent Democrat in conservative state (though the District is Democrat).
