A fiery crash between a dump truck and a gas tanker has left one dead and other hospitalized.

The driver of the dump truck was 44-year-old Chalanta Brown, who sadly died on scene. The fuel tanker driver, 31 year-old Glen Robichaux was able to escape and was taken to a local hospital with moderate injuries.

Fox reports:

Interstate 310 southbound has reopened at La. 3127 near Luling nearly 24 hours after a fiery crash between a fuel tanker and a dump truck.

Preliminary investigation revealed that a 2008 Sterling dump truck, driven by Brown, was traveling in the right lane of I-310 south at a very slow rate of speed for unknown reasons.

A Kenworth 18-wheeler, driven by Robichaux was traveling in the right lane of I-310 and rear-ended the dump truck.

The Kenworth was carrying approximately 8,000 gallons of gasoline and exploded, becoming fully engulfed in flames. The dump truck overturned on its passenger side.

The fiery explosion was caught on video by a dash cam. See for yourself:
