Are Russian Hackers to Blame for Hillary’s Electoral College Loss?

When I first saw the news that Donald Trump had officially won the electoral college vote, my first thought was, “I wonder if Russian hackers were involved.” (joke)

Here’s Texas officially putting Trump over the 270 threshold:

There was supposed to be this groundswell of rebellion against Donald Trump. There were campaigns and petitions circulating to abolish the Electoral College, and others to convince electors not to vote for Trump. Electors were harassed and received tens of thousands of death threats and hate mail.

One lawyer claimed there were at least 20 GOP electors who were going to defect. It was going to be revolutionary. The electors were going to make history. They were going to use the Electoral College as a way to deny Trump the presidency. The media would then reclaim victory as being the effective “voice of the people.”

But that didn’t happen. It didn’t happen at all. In fact, Hillary had more defectors than Trump did. Ouch.

People really did not – and do not – like Hillary. What a mistake it was (for them anyway) for the DNC to collude with Hillary’s campaign to keep Bernie out. If they had been fair, Bernie probably would have gotten the nomination. And it’s entirely possible that he would have beaten Trump.

But the DNC and Hillary’s campaign wanted Trump to get the GOP nomination, because they thought he’d be the easiest to beat. It was going to be a piece of cakewalk in the park. (How’s that for a mixed metaphor?) But she couldn’t even beat Trump. And in the Electoral College, five ended up flipping against Hillary – with three others trying to do so but failing – while only two tried to flip against Trump – with one trying to do so but failing.
