NBA legend Shaquille “Shaq” O’Neal is a “law and order” guy who has been known to serve the American police whenever and wherever he can. He serves as a Florida Police Department reserve officer and often conducts charity through and for local police departments. He is currently working to raise awareness about the fight against “impaired driving” and was recently in Washington, D.C. to raise money for the cause.
O’Neal sat down with the Hill to talk about the fight against drunk, drowsy, distracted, and drugged driving. During the course of their conversation the Hill asked O’Neal for his thoughts on the ongoing effort to force a recount in some of the Rust Belt states. O’Neal argued that Donald Trump won the election “fair and square” and that instead of calling for a recount, liberals should give Trump a chance.
“We have a process that’s been going on forever. And whoever wins, you just hope he does what he says he’s going to do. You know, candidate Trump promised a lot of people a lot of things… Now that he’s president-elect, you just hope that he can make the world a better place. He won fair and square. We have to give him a chance. There’s no need talking about recounts and this and that.” – NBA Hall of Famer Shaquille O’Neal on anti-Trump Protesters.
O’Neal’s short commentary on Trump’s victory echoes what most Americans are saying across the country. The only question now is, will liberals finally start paying attention to what Americans actually want? (Probably not.)
This wasn’t the only time that Shaq has commented on Trump’s presidential victory…
To give you a little taste of the Donald Trump that Shaquille O’Neal knows, check out this little explanation the former NBA star recently gave. (WARNING: the language ahead is NSFW.)
“Donald Trump speaks to an eclectic type audience. I think personally, Donald’s a friend of mine, I just think he says it wrong. If he could reword some of the things he says and put it in business form it would really make sense. But Donald is a straight-up guy, if he sees your shirt tucked out he won’t pull you to the side, he’ll be like “Tuck your Fu**ing shirt in.” Rather than “Some guys like to wear their shirts out but I think you should tuck it in.” He’s just a straightforward guy and it’s going to be very interesting.”
