Obama’s Alternate Reality Is Not Delusional – It’s the Democrat Strategy to Win in 2020.

Written by Nicholas Wishek

Listening to what President Obama has been saying lately about his administration, especially on his farewell foreign tour, one has to wonder what alternate universe he’s living in.

In a very self-serving statement made in Germany the President maintained, “My guiding principle as president has been to try … to look at long-term trends in our economy, in our society, in the international sphere, and using my best judgment, shape policies that will serve the American people, keep them safe, keep our economy growing, put people back to work and best ensure peace, cooperation and stability around the world.” The delusional part is that he seems to believe he’s accomplished all that. Given the state of the country and the world most rational voters would have to say he hasn’t.

Later in Greece he said many of the same things, but also pointed out some specific areas he’s touting as hallmarks of his administration, such as recovering from the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression, passing tax cuts for the middle class, insisting the wealthiest Americans pay their fair share, putting people back to work building roads and bridges, passing Wall Street reforms, creating 15 million new jobs, doubling the production of clean energy, and of course, passing health care as a right for everyone. In other venues the President has pointed to the Iran deal, normalizing relations with Cuba, killing Osama Bin Laden, and fighting for Paris Agreement to reduce global climate change as great achievements.

These are the basic talking points for the Democrat party. They are promoting the idea that the Obama Administration was an astounding success. His progressive policies didn’t work, as progressive policies never do, so the Democrats, with the support of the main stream media, must convince low information voters that they really did succeed. That means they have to lie, twist facts, and distort the information that reaches these voters. In this they are emulating the tactics of Nazi propagandist, Joseph Goebbels who stated, “If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it.” He also said, “It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State.”

This pretty much describes the tactics being used by the Democrat Party.

Any informed person knows this Administration has lied to us time and time again. We were promised that we’d keep our doctor, our health plan, and save $2,400 dollars a year to boot. We were assured that al-Qaeda was on the run and that Benghazi was all about a video. We were told that there wasn’t a smidgen of corruption within the IRS. And on, and on, and on.

We are also assured that the unemployment rate is less than 5%, which is only true if you don’t count people who have given up looking for work. Many of the ballyhooed 15 million new jobs are part-time jobs, and in fact there over 3 million fewer people in the labor force now than when Obama took office.

We are supposed to be comforted when the Democrats tell us that the deficit is being reduced, almost cut in half they brag, but our actual national debt has doubled under President Obama. While it’s true that the stock market is at an all-time high, that doesn’t help most of us who aren’t rich enough to invest in it. They never mention that the poverty rate is up and that more Americans are on food stamps than ever before.

But the sad thing is that this deceitful approach has in fact been working. President Obama was correct when he said most Americans think he’s done a pretty good job as his approval rating is hovering in the mid-50’s percent.

And it isn’t just the fallacious information reaching the voters that Democrats count on for their support. The Democrats, again with the cooperation of the media, blame any setbacks on others. The economy was Bush’s fault even long after he was out of office, and never mind all those Democrat policies that contributed to the initial collapse. Obama would have gotten so much more done if not for the obstructionist Republicans in Congress. Deplorable conditions in the inner cities are the result of incipient racism. Trump is an evil racist who hates Mexicans, African-Americans, Muslims, Women, Gays, and Jews. (That last is really remarkable as his eldest daughter married a Jew, converted to Judaism, and Trump’s grandchildren through her are Jewish.) Democrats keep throwing out these lies knowing that Goebbels was right about repeating them often enough.

The truth doesn’t matter to the progressives in charge of the Democrat party. Trump has upset their plans. All the hoped for “undocumented” immigrants and Muslim refugees won’t be getting signed up to vote in 2020, but as soon as the Democrats manage to return to power things will change. At least that is their hope. The Democrat leaders know that the truth is not on their side. Therefore they will continue to claim the Obama years were an epic success, that they need just a little more time, and of course less interference from the racist, hateful Americans who oppose them. Rational Americans have to stand up to these lies. In a President Trump we will hopefully have a leader who won’t back down or roll over to appease the Democrats and their media allies. Hopefully, too, his policies will give evidence to what a different, greater America we can realize without progressive policies holding us back.
