Conflict of Interest? Podesta’s Buddy at DOJ Heading up Investigation into Huma’s Emails

Assistant Attorney General Peter Kadzik and Hillary’s campaign chairman John Podesta go all the way back to when Kadzik represented Podesta during the Lewinsky trial.

As Podesta said in a recently released leaked email, Kadzik is a “fantastic lawyer” who had “kept [him] out of jail.”

WikiLeaks also revealed that Peter Kadzik – in addition to being longtime close friends with John Podesta – has been the Hillary Clinton campaign’s “inside man” of sorts over at the Justice Department. Leaked emails reveal Kadzik giving Podesta a “heads up” about upcoming events regarding Hillary’s ongoing email investigation.

In an email dated May 19, 2015, Kadzik wrote an email to Podesta with the subject heading “Heads up.” Kadzik wrote:

“There is a HJC oversight hearing today where the head of our Civil Division will testify. Likely to get questions on State Department emails. Another filing in the FOIA case went in last night or will go in this am that indicates it will be awhile (2016) before the State Department posts the emails.”

Not a whole lot of details, but this shows that Kadzik is feeding the Clinton campaign intel. I’m sure this isn’t the only time Kadzik sent heads up emails to Podesta.

And this is the guy who’s going to be heading up the DOJ’s end of the investigation into Huma Abedin’s emails discovered on Anthony Weiner’s laptop. Politico reported:

Assistant Attorney General Peter Kadzik sent letters to the Hill Monday after outraged Democratic lawmakers demanded an explanation for FBI Director James Comey’s letter to Congress Friday advising that investigators handling the Clinton email probe were preparing to examine new evidence that emerged in an unrelated investigation.

“We assure you that the Department will continue to work closely with the FBI and together, dedicate all necessary resource and take appropriate steps as expeditiously as possible,” Kadzik wrote.

As Zero Hedge explained, “In other words, the best friend of John Podesta, Clinton’s Campaign chair, at the DOJ [Peter Kadzik] will be in charge of a probe that could potentially sink Hillary Clinton.”
