Giuliani: Trump’s Tax Returns Prove he is a ‘GENIUS’ [VIDEO]

According to former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani and current ardent Trump supporter, the ‘bombshell’ report by the New York Times regarding the Republican nominee’s tax returns only proves that he’s a genius.

“I mean, the reality is, he’s a genius,” Giuliani told NBC’s Chuck Todd on Meet the Press. “What he did was he took advantage of something that could save his enterprise, and he did something we admire in America. He came back. ‘The Art of the Deal’ is all about that.”

Giuliani pointed out that it took the Times some 18 paragraphs to acknowledge that Donald Trump did nothing illegal. Even Chuck Todd acknowledged Trump’s tax reporting was perfectly legal. But Todd’s question to Giuliani was, “Should it be?”

“That’s a good question,” Giuliani replied. “But it is and it was. And we’re talking about 21 years ago. And if he didn’t take advantage of it, he would have been sued. And that’s why maybe somebody doesn’t want to put out their tax returns because someone will distort it that way.”

So does that mean Trump is a genius? I’m not sure I’d go that far. I’d say it means he had a good tax accountant team working for him.

Even the IRS itself states the following:

“Avoidance of tax is not a criminal offense. Taxpayers have the right to reduce, avoid, or minimize their taxes by legitimate means. One who avoids tax does not conceal or misrepresent, but shapes and preplans events to reduce or eliminate tax liability within the parameters of the law.”

Giuliani said that if Trump had broken the law, he would be in jail by now, since his supposed tax “offense” was committed over twenty years ago. Trump wouldn’t have been able to buy his way out of that one.

So far, the Hillary Clinton campaign has used this story as if it’s some “bombshell October surprise.” And since the media are the ones in control, maybe it will be taken that way by the public. But they want to pretend as if the Clintons – with their many connections to the Cayman Islands and other “tax havens” –  haven’t taken advantage of the same tax “loopholes” that Trump has.
