Conservative Radio Host Issues This Heartfelt Plea to the Black Community [VIDEO]

Conservative African-American radio host Stacy Washington recently took to her Facebook page to have an important conversation with her fans. Washington is a popular talk radio host in the St. Louis area and she is uniquely qualified to speak to the unrest the nation is feeling the aftermath of the deaths of Alton Sterling and Philando Castile. Remembering the Ferguson unrest (but before the shootings in Dallas), Washington took to Facebook to plead with America’s African-American community.

“When those are the least of our problems, just a few hundred people a year are killed in the United States by the police. And of those people just a very small portion are black. Now every one of those lives is valuable and I would rather see them not lost, but when you’re interacting with the police, especially if you’re black you need to operate on the highest standard… Why not be that much more careful?

But how have we lost our way? We aren’t churched anymore. We don’t understand that the best thing you can do is plug into a church and live a morally upstanding life.”
