What We’re Reading June 16, 2016

Written by Onan Coca

We hope you’re having a great day wherever you are and that the news we dig up for you this morning helps you navigate the day more efficiently!

It’s a busy world out there, and you don’t have a ton of free time to be doing Internet searches for the most important items of the day… lucky for you, we do. We drink gallons of coffee in an effort to stay awake long enough to scour the far reaches of the world wide web in an effort to bring you the most important, useful and useless information every single day.

You’re welcome.

So without further ado, here’s what we’re reading, Thursday, June 16, 2016.

Whoa. The Orlando shooter, Omar Mateen, was working with undercover FBI agents (whom he believed to be Islamic terrorist handlers) for almost a year before the FBI decided he was “not a threat.”

The New York Times is now outright blaming Republicans for the Orlando terrorist attack.

Bill Ayers is now lecturing America on preventing terrorism.

Mainstream liberals are now calling for the complete repeal of the 2nd Amendment! Sadly, it seems that Donald Trump may be cracking under the pressure. It looks as if he may be willing to accept some liberal demands on curtailing the 2nd Amendment.

I will be meeting with the NRA, who has endorsed me, about not allowing people on the terrorist watch list, or the no fly list, to buy guns.
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) June 15, 2016

And now the NRA has also sold out the 2nd Amendment.

Obamacare premiums just keep RISING.

The Southern Baptist Convention has caused a bit of a stir this week by deciding to repudiate the display of the Confederate Battle Flag. The chief ethicist at the SBC, Russell Moore, argues that the organization is not trying to minimize the concerns of flag supporters but believes that it is more important to remember that Christians are a part of a larger family and that the flag does offend our African-American brothers and sisters. Pastor Doug Wilson finds the SBC’s decision-making process to be flawed and argues that there are far bigger battles to be fought.

John Stossel tells the story of that one time that he had lunch with Hillary Clinton… and boy is it a good one.
