Rhode Island Politician Says Firefighters Flying the American Flag “Look Like ISIS”!

Written by Onan Coca

Liberal Democrat logic never ceases to amaze me. We have public schools banning t-shirts with Old Glory on them, we have college students complaining that the flag makes them feel oppressed as they get their “free” education, and now we have real life political leaders saying that when firefighters fly the flag on their trucks… they “look like ISIS.”

Fred Gralinski is a political leader in Coventry, Rhode Island and he recently went off on his local Fire Department for being patriotic.

“They look like a bunch of yahoos,” Gralinski argued during a board meeting. “Like in the paper, like ISIS in Syria going to take over a city. I don’t think they need that big flag on the back of the truck. That’s not America to me. Those are a bunch of terrorists. So, I’m going to ask you to take the flag off that truck.”

Graliniski later apologized (through a spokesman because he’s apparently a coward as well as unpatriotic) saying that he “chose his words poorly.”

Are you kidding me?

Let me ask you, dear reader, how could he have better chosen his words?

What language could have possibly softened the blow of comparing his hard-working local fire department to ISIS simply because they displayed an American flag? Old Glory is a symbol of our nation, so how could it possibly be controversial, even with liberals, to fly the flag of the country in which we live? These are the same people who call small government, anti-tax conservatives “unpatriotic.” They happily contend for “patriotism” when it means raising taxes and growing the government… but the minute someone waves a symbol of our country around – these leeches freak out.

It’s utter nonsense.

The people of Coventry, Rhode Island need to do themselves a favor and dump this liberal chump, ASAP.
