What We’re Reading May 7, 2016

Written by Onan Coca

We hope you’re having a great day wherever you are and that the news we dig up for you this morning helps you navigate the day more efficiently!

It’s a busy world out there, and you don’t have a ton of free time to be doing Internet searches for the most important items of the day… lucky for you, we do. We drink gallons of coffee in an effort to stay awake long enough to scour the far reaches of the world wide web in an effort to bring you the most important, useful and useless information every single day.

You’re welcome.

So without further ado, here’s what we’re reading, Saturday, May 7, 2016.

Dr. Ben Carson implied that it was a very likely possibility that Donald Trump would consider choosing a Democrat to be his selection for Vice President. Soon after though, Mr. Trump ruled out that possibility.

Donald Trump told the media earlier this week that he would name Rudy Giuliani as his Secretary of Homeland Security.

Mr. Trump also offered his first pivot as the presumptive nominee when he signaled that he would definitely consider raising the minimum wage.
“I’m actually looking at that because I am very different from most Republicans,” Trump said. “You have to have something that you can live on but what I’m really looking to do is to get people great jobs so they make money more than that, they make more money than the $15 minimum wage.”

The influential and famous Republican strategist, Mary Matalin, has left the Republican Party for the Libertarian Party.

NOW President Terry O’Neill published an editorial this past week, in which she argued that babies wouldn’t die so much if we’d just kill them before they actually died. Seriously.

The FBI now has enough information to indict Hillary Clinton over the Benghazi scandal.

South Florida’s Republican delegation to Congress is having a very difficult time coming to terms with the reality of Donald Trump’s coming presidential nomination. Part of the reason is these numbers from the latest CNN poll that show Mr. Trump is deeply unpopular, particularly among Latino voters.

Some mind-boggling numbers from Indiana’s GOP Primary.
